This blog creation thing is no joke! When I first thought of doing it, I had no intention of creating a website or an Instagram (cause I did that tonight, and I really hope to see you all there too!). It really was just the thought of having a journal that I could share with close friends and keep myself honest about changing my eating and exercise habits. Then I decided to push it a bit more. I mean, there’s got to be plenty of other women like me who may need some inspiration, and maybe I could be part of that for them.
The Research Begins
So the research began… all the research about blogs, different types of blogs, and reading all the blogs. It’s a lot! I’ve got to admit that I’ve enjoyed it, though. It’s been carving out time for me that isn’t spent mindlessly scrolling and getting caught up in reels and shorts, ultimately getting nothing done. It’s kind of fun, actually.
Website Creation: A Demon of Epic Proportions
Now, the website creation? That’s another thing entirely… a monster really, or better yet, a demon of epic proportions. I spent literal hours looking into different host sites, reading their reviews, and even watching some YouTube videos to get an idea of the mess I was diving into. For now, I think the site looks okay. I had to start completely over once after not making much headway because, after further research, I’d unintentionally chosen the hardest way to create a website. And no, I still can’t change the font—haha! Hopefully, I’ve got it figured out enough for you all to be able to easily navigate it, which is what matters the most, I think.
A Walk With Odin and Road Cone Fashion
Other than the website mess, the rest of the day went pretty well. I get off work at noon on Fridays, so I was able to take Odin for our walk before it got dark and I had to wear the dreaded neon yellow sweatshirt with the reflective tape all over the chest, back, and sleeves. The way I’m built, I imagine I look like an upside-down road cone wearing that thing, but it is better than getting run over, so I’ll wear it when needed, I suppose.
Makeup Adventures: Contouring and More
I also picked myself up a new blush palette from the local Dollar General that I am actually pretty excited about. I’ve never worn much makeup—mascara doesn’t count because it’s mandatory. I occasionally would put on some foundation if my skin was looking super uneven color-wise, but that never happened often. Lately, though, I’ve been wearing it all… primer, foundation, blush, and contour stuff. Yes, that’s right, I’m trying to learn to contour my face makeup. Haven’t you ever seen the videos of the girls making their extra chin(s) disappear? I’m trying to teach myself that, but let me tell you—that research is a lot more fun than website creation research. I’m not sure how well I’m doing with it; sometimes I feel like my face just looks dirty, but it’s getting better.
Health Update: Insulin and Diet Wins
It was also another day that I forgot my insulin. Okay, it’s day three of no insulin, and only one of them I actually forgot. The other two I just decided it was not super necessary because my numbers are still pretty excellent, probably due to the lack of bread, potatoes, and sugar in my current diet. Today was mostly just a carnivore day, though I did have a piece of broccoli for a snack. And yes, the blood sugar levels are remaining at a normal level—even a low normal! It makes me hopeful that I can just continue not taking it, which will definitely help with losing weight. And losing weight means I would need to buy more clothes.
Good Night, Friends
Good night again, friends. Hope to see you next time! Cheers,
Tara Ann
